ThePathway is designed to help parents understand the youth football landscape without paid rankings, hidden promotion or pathway hype.
We prefer official organiser pages, association pages, club pages, competition documents, published program details and direct provider information - and we cite them with a year and a last-checked date.
We label organiser type, selection model, cost visibility, source status and last-checked date before making any parent-facing interpretation. Parents see the structure first, the read second.
Providers cannot buy a ranking position. If paid visibility is ever introduced, it will be labelled clearly and cannot affect parent guidance, the Pathway Check or any 'best fit' read.
We assess options by fit, clarity, player load, age/stage appropriateness and parent decision usefulness - not prestige, marketing volume or how loud a brand is.
Labels appear on cards across formats, what's on, providers and the Pathway Check. They tell you what an option is before we tell you what we think.
ThePathway is also informed by a small role-based panel of football and parent perspectives. The Panel helps us sense-check guidance, pressure-test assumptions and keep the platform parent-first. It does not create rankings, endorse paid programs or replace source-locked information.
Meet the PanelThe right option is not always the highest-status option. The right option is the one that fits the player's age, confidence, goals, family constraints and current football week.
